This document explains how the Ochanti app ("the app", "we") handles your data. By using the app you agree to what is set out here.
1. Data we collect
a) Data you create inside the app
Your projects, workers and their pay and attendance, materials and suppliers, expenses, invoices and notes. This data is stored on your device, and copied to the cloud only if you enable an account and sync.
b) Account data (optional)
If you create an account: your email address or username, and what is needed to manage your organisation and its supervisors. We never ask for more data than is necessary.
c) Limited technical data
When cloud notifications are enabled we store your device's notification token (Firebase) in order to send alerts. We may log anonymised technical errors to improve stability. We do not track your location and we do not sell any data.
d) Usage analytics and campaign measurement
We use analytics tools (Google Firebase Analytics) to collect anonymised statistics about which screens and features are used most and how many users are active, in order to improve the app. We also use the Advertising ID and general app events (such as install and account creation) through Meta/Facebook solely to measure the performance of our own promotional campaigns — that is, to know how many people installed the app from one of our ads. We do not show ads inside the app and we do not sell your data.
2. How we use your data
- To run the app features you asked for (site management, reports, accounts).
- To sync your data between your devices and share it with the supervisors you add yourself.
- To send the notifications you enabled (team activity, debt and budget alerts).
- To protect your account and improve the app's performance.
- To analyse feature usage (anonymously) and measure the performance of our own promotional campaigns.
We do not show ads inside the app, we do not sell your data, and we do not share it with marketing intermediaries. We use the Advertising ID and app events exclusively to measure our own advertising campaigns (such as the number of installs coming from an ad).
3. Storage and cloud sync
Primary storage is on your device. When you enable an account, a copy of your business data is stored with our cloud infrastructure provider Supabase to make sync, team features and backup possible. Data travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
4. Sharing with third parties
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the essential service providers that run the app:
- Supabase — database hosting, authentication and backups.
- Google Firebase — push notifications, usage analytics (Analytics) and crash reporting (Crashlytics).
- Meta/Facebook — measuring our advertising campaigns (install attribution) through the Advertising ID and general usage events.
These providers process the data on our behalf, under their own security controls, solely to deliver the service.
5. Security
You can lock the app with a PIN or your fingerprint. Cloud data travels over an encrypted connection and access to it is protected by authentication. That said, no system is 100% secure, so we also recommend protecting your device.
6. Your rights and data retention
Your local data is entirely in your hands: you can edit or delete it at any time. To permanently delete your account and all your cloud data, use "Delete account" inside the app — details on the account deletion page.
7. Children
The app is aimed at contractors and professionals. It is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will publish the updated version here along with the date of the update.
